Skylark was formed in 2011. We are four friends who met through music and found we have a common interest in developing, singing, playing and performing traditional songs.

 

Our repertoire includes our own uplifting arrangements of traditional and contemporary songs from the British Isles, and America. We especially enjoy performing Old Time, Gospel, Spirituals and Blues and do a cracking Burns Night and St Patricks Celebration. Jane is our fabulous lead singer with Caroline joining her in two part harmony. Sarah provides driving rhythms on guitar with Clare improvising on flute and Caroline adding fiddle rhythms and breaks. Jane adds variety and colour with percussion and mandolin. 

 

We really enjoy getting out and performing. We have performed at many events and locations including 'Skylark' concerts, local pubs, several festivals, charity events and private functions. We often perform at ceilidhs with our 'Barn Dance Band' the 'Cotton Mill Ceilidh Band'. We have performed 'live' on BBC Radio Devon.

 

As far as bookings are concerned we are  happy hear from organisers of events needing a main or support act, charity events,  and people wanting music at their private functions.
